Beginning solely as a publisher of PC adventure games, the Toronto-based DreamCatcher Interactive has grown to be one of the most succesful on the market in a short period of time. Slowly they began releasing titles on different platforms and genres. In 2002 they created The Adventure Company, a division dealing exclusively with adventure games. After buying french publisher Cryo Interactive, an office was opened in Paris, France.

Both, DreamCatcher and The Adventure Company were integrated as publishing labels into JoWood, after their acquisition in 2006 by the respective German group. Besides the immense number of adventure titles released, DreamCatcher is also famous for bringing us Painkiller, Arx Fatalis and Spellforce.
