The Fifth Horseman That's weird like hell.

Try reducing the amount of memory available in DOSBox to 8 mb (memsize=8 in dosbox.conf) and running LOADFIX before you start the game. Also check if the sound configuration used by the game is consistent with the soundcard emulated by DOSBox.

A bad scratch on a bad place on the CD could make the installation faulty.
But 3 completely different CD pressings over a span of years, the odds have to be astronomical, besides, there is no scratch like that on mine as they are all in brand new condition, you're grasping at straws or an ex-Interplay employee!

Maybe you've got a faulty copy?
Not possible, because at various points in time I have had no less than 3 different CD pressings, the original, The Federation Compilation and Interplay's Signature Series edition!

Star Trek 25th Anniversary CD bug?!

"Internal error
Out of memory handles
Game aborted..."

I've had this problem on various original MSDOS machines and DosBox 0.73 ever since I first bought the talkie CD around 1995, even Interplay Tech Support knew nothing back then, anyway, beginning with "Another Fine Mess", my error sporadically appears so you have to save your game after every scene or decision so it can be completed!

Anybody else here ever have an encounter like mine?

Rick
