einherjar | The game is Aleshar: World of Ice. It is a DOS game, so running it in Windows 95/98 compatibility mode won't work. |

May I also ask which game have fuzzy sound? For certain games like UFO it is normal unless you play the original unpatched version. Also, if you don't have enough memory for VDMSound, you may want to create a batch file to load up VDMSound and then go into properties and try to allocate specific memory instead of leaving it on "auto", which is the default setting. It might settle the memory problem. Also, going in the properties and setting compatibility to Windows 95 or 98 might help too. |

The sound stays the same at all CPU cycles. My computer is a Dell Dimension 4500 with a Pentium 4 processor and Windows XP. |

Don't sweat it, you asked a question and we are here to help. Do you have a better sound quality by reducing the cycles or it's still the same? Also, what is your computer specs? |

Well, the game runs fine at 10,000 CPU cycles, however the sound is still filled with static. Forgive me for being so ignorant of computers... |

VDMSound does not provide memory, it is only a sound emulator. Also, VDMSound is built in DOSBox. If you experience choppy sound, my best bet would be that you overcycle your game and that your computer is not able to follow up. While it will slow down your game instead of speeding it up when you overcycle, it often also lead to choppy sound just like if you were running too slow. When running too slow, other problems been known to happen like a jumpy mouse cursor for example. |

How can I manipulate VDMSound to work with different games? I have an idea on how to alter DosBox's settings, but I'm not sure how to do so with VDMSound. The game in question works fine at about 10000 CPU cycles with DosBox, but the sound and music is quite fuzzy on many different sound configurations. The same game cannot be run by VDMSound because it requires 36kb more memory than VDMSound can provide. |
