You cannot manipulate with FACTS and DATA...
Unfortunately it's not that hard to manipulate at all.

The thing is that a person can deliberately give false statements. Here's an easy example of how to mislead people - and once you mislead them, they will take everything you say as the truth.

A riddle:
Three people go into a youthhostel and get a room. The receptionist tells them the room costs 30€ so they give 10€ each and go to the room.
Now the meneger comes to the receptionist and tells him that they have lowered the prices for the night and the room costs only 25€.
The receptionist takes 5€ from the cash register and goes to their room, but on his way he realizes he can't devide 5€ among 3 people. So he takes 2€ for himself and gives the guests 1€ each.

Misleading way of thinking:
They payed 30€ - it was in the chash register.
Receptionist took 5€ to return to them - so 25€ in the register.
He gave them back 1€ each - so they all payed 9€.
The receptionist took 2€ for himself.

So they payed 9€ each and there were three of them. 9€*3=27€
The receptionist took for himself 2€. 27€ + 2€ = 29€
But they payed 30€ when they came! 30€ =/ 29€. Where's the missing euro?

I didn't lie and I didn't give any false facts, but I made a misleading statement somewhere in between. Explain to me where the Euro is!
This is a way to manipulate people - with something that makes sense, but it still isn't true! [/b][/quote]
I've heard that before, and even now I can't figure it out...

Edit: n/m, I figured it out (finally) I actually just hadn't really thought about it...but that is a very good example of how easy it is to manipulate "facts"
