It is not that I'm not proud to be a muslim, its just that I'm not proud of what muslim's are today.
Another thing if the prophet and the Sahabah(companions of the prophet) had to see me now I have no idea what they would call me.
In the prophet's time those(man) that did not read Namaaz in the mosque were considered open hypocrites. That is why it is also said that the hypcrites also perform salah in masjid so as not to be exposed.
I don't even perform my namaaz in my home. God forgive me, but I don't know what to do.
It is said that to miss one namaaz is like losing your entire wealth and family, and if I truly believe this in my heart how can I miss it.

That would be the so-called Dhimmis, then?

I'm not certain what it was called, I only remember bits and pieces of what I learnt about that.
@all
Anyone familiar with King Haroon Rashid? He was the King of Baghdad and ruled quite fairly.
In the book Arabian Nights it depicted his character quite well if you ask me.
Wish someone like that ruled iraq now.
And this business about oil reminded me about what the prophet predicted.
It was something like this:
"I do not fear that my followers become poor, rather I fear when the wealth will be at their feet"
It is also mention that prophet said that he would prefer his people to be poor because it is easy for them to turn towards God for help then it is for the rich to be grateful for what God has given them. But wealth is also a test from God.
And lastly sorry for being off topic so much.
