I am a little confused: you guys buy these kits and then paint them?

Basically, yes.

Thats all you do?

And no. Sometimes we just paint the kit straight after cleaning the mouldlines off, sometimes we spend a lot of time on altering the miniature (cutting, adding wire skeleton and resculpting with modelling putty) to get a specific character or pose.
In this case, all I did to the actual miniature was filling in some bits that were not casted properly, but the skull on the base is 75% custom sculpting work.

I don't paint at all, because I suck. I am so clumsy, it drips everywhere, etc, etc, etc.
