Well, I read Heart of Darkness which is what the movie is based on. My class focused a lot on "the horror...the horror" because it's so famous and what it means and all that. There's actually a really REALLY long version of Apocalypse now, and I've seen the shorter one, that cuts out a lot of the "unnecessary" stuff, so maybe I missed your other quote.
Anyway...
If his premature demise has in some way enlightened the rest of you as to the grim finish below the glossy veneer of criminal life, and inspired you to change your ways, then his death carries with it an inherent nobility.
