Well, the MIDI music in the game is not General MIDI format like MID or RMI, it's an XMI music, Extended MIDI format I think, the format was created for Roland Sound Canvas card originally, so it sounds often better than the synthetical General MIDI. But it is nevertheless MIDI music.
