Perhaps because you tried nothing else?
One thing about WoW is that there's always something different to do, be it walking in the forest looking for herbs for druidic recipes, or hunting and skinning animals.
You just didn't try at all, and battles always seem to be fun, if you're anything but a warrior

@Sup - Was it really that hard? I've played both Tauren and Night Elf, and it seems that it's actually very newbie friendly. They must have improved it since the beta.
