It kinda makes me mad when people say all this crap about "how bad" the psp is, and they dont say crap about the DS. The PSP seems like the clear choice for me, yet everyone always praises the DS and complains about the PSP.* I havnt noticed any of this here yet, and i dont even know if any of you are into the new handheld gaming market, but i was bored and wanted to get you guyses opinion

It does not look like you're after someone's opinion. Both consoles have their cons and pros and it is personal opinion which one to buy.

I do not understand this one bit. Sure, it may not have as many games as the DS, but in my book it is and always has been quality over quantity. Why pet a fake dog when you could be playing console-like GTA games, socom (single player and online), burnout legends, ssx on tour, infected, Prince of Persia, etc. It just makes no sense. Oh, and all the games that are available on both the DS and the PSP, guess which ones are better? right, the psp version... (NFS, Burnout, Spider Man, etc.). So why do people always complain that the psp has crappy games? is it because you get to pet dogs and play lame driving games on the DS? probably.... [/b]

This is something new?! Who complans about psp's game selection? I believe PSP had nice collection from beggining. On the other hand, there were couple hundred GBA games that you can play on DS, plus easy of conversion of N64 games made DS strong on software (like most Nintendo consoles). Again, it all depends what kind of games do you like to play. I like short games, not much thinking, like Mario vs. DK or Advance Wars so I choose Nintendo.

They complain about hte battery life. Why? Its not like anyone is going to be playing for more than 2 hours anyways, so with battery life in the 4-5 range i think its good to go. If your playing in a car, i got a solution! buy a psp car charger! if your playing at home, plug it into the wall! and if you are playing in none of the above, i doubt you will be unable to find an electrical outlet somewhere.

What's the point to have handheld, if you have to be wired all the time? PSP battery life depends on use of it's midia. More spinning - shorter battery life in simplest. Average battery life is 2-3 hours, which is not enough for average player who will take PSP to a trip. Normal battery life for GBA (Not DS) is 9 hours. With special addition that life extends to 24-27 hours. Basicly, it's something that you can't compare, and it is something that made GameBoy handheld of choice. There were other great handhelds like GameGear (I own it), but its battery life made it obsolete.

They complain about the price. again, why? sure, the ds is half the cost, but it can also only do a fraction of the features available to the psp. You dont see movies on the DS, nor picture viewing, MP3 playing or even high quality games. So get over it, in the long run it'll be worth it

Well, once when you have 2-3 children, you might think a bit different. PSP is more expensive, screen is bigger and easily scratched, and its battery life sucks. Also, on the software, DS has a lot of kids games, while PSP is more suitable for older audience. Also movies on PSP sucks, as you can't play them in regular DVD, so I don't see the point to get a movie that you can only watch on console.

They complain about other random things like dead pixels and easily scratched screen. the dead pixel problem was a launch problem, almost all consoles have these sort of problems at launch.* what do you think is happening with the 360 crashing, eh? same sort of thing. Easily scratched screen? TAKE BETTER CARE OF IT for petes sake. buy a good case and some screen protectors and dont leave it lying on the floor

It is funny that you compare xBox360 with PSP. Almost like saing: yes, it sucks, but xBox sucks more. Funny.... When you have scratches on console, then you have a problem. And people are having a problem to carry PSP, as its big for pocket....

So all i have to ask is why. Why is the DS outselling the PSP, why do people diss the PSP so much, and why does the PSP get complained about for the little things? almost EVERY SINGLE console has "little things" that may annoy you, so why is the PSP always getting picked on, especcially over the DS??? [/quote]
Read above. I don't have any numbers to compare the sales, but I know that I will not get PSP any soon.

Yes, you should love your PSP. Take special care of it. Make sure it does not leave room, as you might run out of batteries, or scratch your screen.
There is still another GameBoy comming out. (DS was not next GBA version)
