No I am not using DosBox...
When I try to select a soundcard it has the exact same result. It freezes the PC (please note that in both cases -sound or no sound- the PC freezes
before the intro). Just a black screen and then I have to reset. It is not possible to enter even into Task Manager.
But if we found a solution to magnify the screen even more and solve the issue with the budget, I would have no problem playing under DosBox...
