As for the soundcard, try finding a couple versions of the drivers.
DOS 7.1 has drivers for all the soundcards you need.
As for the CD-boot, try finding a different version of the BIOS. Make absolutely sure it's compatibile with your machine and from the same manufacturer as your current one.
What would you want to use the CD boot function for, though?
Some OS'es (DOS 7.1, for example) have a boot floppy and an install CD. This combo works quite well, too - my current oldschool unit doesn't boot some OS'es from CD (oddly, this seems to apply only to Linux-based ones...), and this solution worked for me.
