Hmm... That's an interesting question...
I'd say it would have to be a combination of many things.
1) The ultimate goal: gather enough power to control everybody's computers and establish the ultimate game-base (whcich would include every game ever created - prefrebly for DOS, but could be for any machine/any OS).
2) In order to be so strong you'd have to be able to hack other people's computers.
3) The main focus of the game would therefore be the in the hacking and protecting ones self against the hacks.
4) The stronger you'd be - the easier it would be to hack somebody else (because you'd have more power/experiance/options), but you'd be under constant attacks by others.
5) As a small fish, you wouldn't be interesting to get attacked, but would have great trouble defending your self if attacked.
6) You could have mini nets - create different players which you'd all control - and establish the strongest one of them. But if that one falls all would be lost. That one would however be able to use all the power of the lesser ones under its control - so it might be powerful enough to survive an attack.
7) Once you reach enough power, you someone would get into the data base and have all the games (only inside this game) the game would stop. Then you could start all over again. So it would be in the interest of the others - to always gang up on the strongest player (so that person couldn't get into the data base). This would make poeple want to equal out the powers.
It would mostly be a strategy game I guess (sort of like online risk). Whadaya think?
