For people that cannot play the game, i think i found the correct way.
Step 1:
Download the VDMS program from Abondia Software.
Step 2:
Onces installed, you need to push the right button in the Kyrandia 3 directory on the MAIN.exe file and start the program
using VDMS:
- Here you need to select "Use Default configuration" & Remember my settings.
(it's now one of the windows options (just like copy, paste and stuff)
- You can Skip Step 3, it's not needed; but i'll put it here to explain how to fix
the cdrom problem.
Step 3:
- But when started it will give the CD-ROM Problem. Close the DOS window.
Step 4: Push the right button on the Main.Exe file (but now the new pictogram that
VDMS made) here go to properties (or in Dutch : Eigenschappen) (last option in the row)
Step 5: Here you need to select : Enable Low-Level CDROM Support
you have finished this steps, it should work in Windows XP (pack 1 & 2)
Also Pretty damn handy to know:
- If you start playing Malcoms Revenge, there will be some slight problem because
you will not be able to read the dialoges (they will turn up way to fast) because of the fact that this is a ripped version without music/voices.
You can fix this by putting the Voice slider to the most left side. It will automaticly put the text on and at a normal reading speed. Aslong as it keeps left you will be perfectly able to to play the game. (altough it's a damn shame that the movies and the voices are gone.)
I hope this little "Walktrough" was of help to any of you guys.
(By the way this method has worked for all dos games i played till now, so no need for dosbox.)
