When you climb a stairway up or down, the monsters next of you will follow you to the next level. This is because you can't just run away from "trouble" if you get overwhelmed...

Yeah, I've already tried it myself immediately after I've read your post. I noticed that monsters always follow you when they stand next to you and you climb the stairs in either direction when I played ADOM for one of my first times.
And once I even managed to take Tywat Pare the sheriff with me when I left Terinyo and he occasionally stood next to me. I brought him to the outlaw settlement and he slaughtered all those wandering bad guys there

I like watched a Clint Eastwood western LOL
But that's another story, anyways...
So, I tried that thing, and managed to bring Yrrigs right to the first level, but when I attempted to climb out of the dungeon along with him standing next to me, I've got a message saying that I cannot leave the dungeon while envolved in a fight

So, can I get a little bigger piece of tip?

Because I haven't managed to complete at least a third part of the game yet, and I hate cheating.
And all that talking about impossibility of completing the game without making backup copies brought me frustrated.
And now I have an inspiration to continue my strugglings!!!

Then I'll read it when I'll have completed the game at least three times

On the top of the page, in that wide crimson bar there is a grey box labeled "options". Click it and choose "print topic" (which really does not auto-print the thread, just display it in a printer-friendly mode all on a single page and thus far easier to save), "e-mail topic" or "download topic".
