I reccomend Ghost in the Shell... There are two mangas, two movies and two complete OVA series (with a third one underway). Don't advise the second manga, though... doesn't stand up to the original.
But all the rest is quite something, especially if you like cyberpunk genre.

Aren't you mistaking
proper Anime with Hentai-Anime (the pornographic sub-genre)? By the same token, it would also be illegal for people under 18 to watch television, just because
some of the transmitted programs contain pornography.
