You need to run the game's setup and configure the soundcard correctly. Default for DosBox and VDMSound is Sound Blaster 16, IRQ 7, DMA 1, HDMA 3, Adress 220 h. If no setting for Sound Blaster 16 is available, try Sound Blaster Pro 2 (or just "plain" Pro).
