The game works and the sound works, but every time I go to another screen within the game, I get strange colors..... it happens in Super Melee as well as in the full game. I had the same trouble, and found the answer in the Update.txt : you have to start Star Control 2 with the /g:BIOS argument. In other words, create a .bat file with the command :
STARCON2 /g:BIOS
in it, and run the game from it.
It's a great game btw
