Lulu Jane, you have met your nemesis head on by saying that. If you really want to paint watch 'Bob Ross' then buy his paints. I promise you that you will be able to paint if you listen to that man.
Proof is there in the link, I am Forty and a wee bit years old and I really do not have the ability to paint but I have a stubborn nature and the more I listened to Bob the more he hypnotised me into buying his stuff and giving it a go.
My paintings impress me because I have no real desire to be artistic and I really was rubbish at art in school. So if you want an easy method, you can do one oil painting in three or four hours, that is economical and enjoyable give Bob a shout.
I was 'taught' by him in about a dozen hours. Even if you make a huge mistake on the canvas little ole Bob has a solution for that too, so you don't waste money throwing the canvas away.
