You don't need FilePlanet's dl manager to download from them (first-hand experience here).
Chosen: Try changing Core to Normal instead of Auto/Dynamic. While dynamic Core emulation went a long way from its beginnings, it's still not 100% compatibile with some of the games. Recently I tried to run Inner Worlds and neither game nor setup could handle Dynamic Core. Ran without any problem in Normal Core, though.
Also, are you sure the disc/archive/whatever wasn't damaged or corrupted in some fashion?
