Also.... final bits of interest about the game;
To make sure the Kall's are on your side, don't rescue the Morgruls at Phoenix 1 till the Kall fleet first shows up at Phoenix 5. That means they are attacking the Phelonians. Rescue the Morgruls at Phoenix one THEN, and the Kall fleet will instead go to Mirach 3, and aid you both in the spacewar and groundwar, leaving the Phelonians alone and allowing you to win with less ships and tanks. (Which is good, means you need to spent less time and resources, both of which are precious.) It does make things alot easier at that stage of the game.
Second, guide to the people at the bar, those are important too!
Bartender
How to get: He's there at the start.
What he can do for you: He can tell you about people at the bar, such as the spy or the morgrul pirate captain. He also tells you that you are not alone in your own solarsystem. Most importantly though, you need to talk to him after you first encounter the league. He will tell you to split them up. Which he needs to have told you for you to be able to get the Undorlings on your side. (You should do this straight after meeting the League.)
Spy Hunter
How to get: He's there at the start.
What he can do for you: Kill the spy, but you do not want him to do this. Actually this guy really isn't any use.
Informant
How to get: He's there at the start.
What he can do for you: He sells you interesting information. Particularly important when you find the Phoenix system as he will tell you where to find the Phelonians. (However you can also do this by flying back and forth into the Phoenix system. (Your ships might detect the planet.) or by building a colony and observatory at Phoenix 2 (but this is expensive and elaborate due to the planet being irradiated, and you having to invent the anti-radiation shield, which takes an 8 in physics to invent etc.) Not all of the info he gives is useful though. He's wrong about the Erans.
Spy
How to get: He pops up after the Morgruls second wave of attack, talk to the bartender about him, then offer him at least 30000 credits to join you.
What he can do for you: He can figure out stuff about your enemies. He'll also tell you the location of the Mirach system when you hire him. You will need that information to defeat the Morgruls! So don't let your spy hunter kill the little guy.
Morgrul
How to get: Defeat the Morgruls
What he can do for you: Sometimes you pick up messages about ores or weapons being transported. He can attack these for you. He seems to benefit from having many well armed pirate ships in your fleet. These ores and weapons can be a nice little boost to your forces. He will always accept half the cargo as his prize (if you got a fair amount of ores and not so much money this can be good for the ore raids.) And also often will accept the middle prize for hiring him. (good for raiding for weapons, so you'll get more of these.) Sometimes he'll want more cash though!
Eran
How to get: Build a colony at Antares 3 with an observatory. You'll discover the sun is going nova. When you sent your trade group to rescue the colonies, the Erans will talk to you. Offer to help them and he'll be at your bar.
What he can do for you: He can get the Undorlings or Lisonians on your side once you encounter the league. Get the Undorlings as they give you technology. Nearly vital!
Undorling
How to get: Get the Undorlings on your side with the Erans help
What he can do for you: Tell you about the three other League races that you are fighting. Not that useful. Just you get him anyway when you make the Undorlings join you, and you want to do that. So like... enjoy him.
Bounty Hunter
How to get: He shows up after you find out about Earth
What he can do for you: Kill the telepath controlling earth, however this does not seem to be doing any good, weirdly.
Treasonable
How to get: Shows up at the back of the bar (Easy to miss!) once the Earth declares war on you.
What he can do for you: Give him money and he'll tell you about the telepath controlling Earth, so you can sic the bountyhunter on him. Doesn't seem to do much though.
