I had errors similar to yours when I was playing through the game. Specifically, the game would claim to have lost the cursor or would simply boot me to dos. Most of these occurred when I activated certain plot/conversation points before the game was ready for them. I humbly suggest either reloading and replaying an old savegame (annoying) or reading up on sum Dosbox.conf
