Hello Mech Commander.
You need to mess up a little with the setup files. My own copy doesn't work with sound either, but I managed to run the music in the background.
Thing is, I never played this game with sound anyways. There was no soundcard on my computer when I first played the game, so I don't actualy miss anything.
Maybe using a lower version of DOSBox would help here.
