I'm not that stupid, Paco!
Jesus...
I wanted it to actually BE an Interactive Hint-book - not just a regular document.
A Universal Document Format document. So the script is kept and it's like a menu interface.
I think they're way better than Walkthus. If I could translate, or even know how to build, an Interactive Hint-Book then that would be awesome because Walkthru's totally spoil a game. Especially if it's just the one puzzle, not too late on in the game, that gives you the methodology to expect in the harder puzzles.
I always just go back to the Walkthru and use it if I get stuck for 5 minutes - making it so I'm just watching the game, rather than playing it. You know?
A Hint-book like that for any game would be great!
It requires a bit more writing and some creativity to make one that's not interactive.
That, I can do.
It requires computer programming knowledge (and I know outdated coding. I did an MCSE primarily on NT4, ffs...) of which I have none.
So if someone else if willing to help me with this project, I think it'd be a good thing to have people request for popular games - it'd make the site better and people like me (whomever they are) who prefer not to have games spoiled would enjoy things more.
Enjoying life's a good thing.
I can almost do it on MacOS using Textmate - at least that attempts to run the script, even if it doesn't work right.
I just have no idea whatsoever about how the hell to get even that far in MSDos...
Totally clueless, dude.
I just don't know how to do it.
Someone else out here does, probably. If they'd collaborate with me, since I'm willing to give up the time and effort, I reckon it'd be something that is pretty unique on a site like this (or anywhere).
Feck off having to buy massive £29.99 books at the shop to find the out how to get the last flag at the Ruined Temple in Assassin's Creed - of which No. 2 looks awesome! - or spoiling Simon the Scorcerer, which I did when I called up the people and badgered them to tell me how to do it
all the time.
That sucks.
What'd be better, is if I approached some games companys and, after playing a game or Play Testing, do this with someone.
I'd rather play games all day and write about them than have to keep spewing out convoluted plot lines and weak characters that hold no interest once I know them backwards.
Because there are always new games to play!
