IIRC Home of the Underdogs had at least some of the presented games stored in such split floppies manner.

This would be my preferred way of archivization if not for the quirks of dosbox with multiple floppy images. Hey, it's good to still have "good" old floppy drive.

Please note that some old games, unlike standardized Windows installation packages of today, had interesting custom installation programs. Remember, say, Command & Conquer?
