The subject (in this case, me) is already expressed in the first part of the sentence (
I'm also spending...) and because we tend to be very economical when forming sentences, the subject in the second part of the sentence (
[...]and am[...]) is omitted; the reader still knows who I'm talking about because no other subject was expressed in the context. So, even though the teachers in primary schools and high schools (and even universities) are likely to be happier if you put a personal pronoun between those two beauties, there's nothing wrong by omitting them...
