Even on a real dos compy you don't need to install the game, simply put the whole railsdx folder on your HD.
If you need to reconfigure the soundsettings (they are set for dosbox):
run install
but choose: Reconfigure hardware options
You will need to configure:
-> Music&sound effect card selection
-> Digitized speech card selection
With the correct settings for your dos PC.
The updated sound config will be saved on exit.
