I have a problem too. I use IE  and I got no problems  But since I cant see my Gmail under this junk I downloaded Opera then Firefox. The both programs were unable to connect even I set them as my default browser. Is this a matter of security? I got Win98SE and I recently downloaded the latest IE patch. well for firefox make sure you have javascript enabled. gmail uses that kind of junk.. at least it looks like it to me when i check my gmail.
but why its broken in ie and opera as well... hm. it makes me wonder if somehow javascript is broken in your setup since that ie patch
