Short Stories
In the past year i've had two of my friends have there own short stories published by various thingies. The stories are nothing special, but they do make for a neat little read. And it got me thinking today, "Hey, I wanna make a short story!"
So I've started working on one. So far i only have a little bit because i was working on it in school, and i need to revise it a little (im goona remove a date, which right now is 1884, when the CPR was being constructed. I wanna remove the date just so i dont need to worry about it being superbly historically accurate) and then decide how long i wanna make it. Then find some sort of story thing to send it too. Cause i don't actually know who to send it too.
Basically it's about a guy working with the CPR as they lay the railroad out across south western alberta, just before it gets into the rocky mountains, and thats all I have, a few paragraphs describing the scenery. I need to actually work on story later.
But while we're on the topic, and other short-story writers here? Story writers in general?
In the last 2 years my writing style has actually changed significantly, in grade 10 all I wrote about was basically people getting in situations leading to death, where as now i focus more on some sort of believable, more realistic things, and i think if i tried i could actually get a story published.
