No, that was up until 0.73. In 0.74 they've changed that inconsistency and it's -t cdrom for both, at least according to the manual (readme). I haven't bothered to check what happens if you use the old syntax, it would be most logical if the old legacy syntax worked along the new one, but he might want to try both just in case there's any difference, documented or not.
