A forgotten gem in game history.
I still remember the batch file I made to put the entire game on a Virtual RAM Drive. I got it to run so smoothly on my old 386.
I also remember being scared to death running down corridors away from very scary looking monsters! As a 10-year old when I first played it, it made me panic. I didn't want to see the skull when I died! And monsters or people, you could correspond with anything or attack it, even if its friendly. If you have a business deal with a goblin go sour, and he is upset already, he will become hostile, the music will change, and suddenly you must defend your shady business practices. Or run.
Anyway this game is extremely awesome, and I can not believe it gets overlooked as often as it does. The sequel is a little hard to get started, but the first one has a degree of social immersion in a 3d environment that no modern game has really come close to.
