To be fair i did some tests in the very beginning of the Fortress but i found more than 30 Shadows and i think that i am abs. unable to kill all of them because no place to hide and rest to continue. |

Aside the above hint I let you know you don't have to fight the shadows, just run around touching all the nitbits.
