Actualy, yes. It's one and the same in many ways.
Difference is, we don't try to profit on it, nor take away anyone elses money by doing this.
We just want to keep old good games alive, even thou the developers have abandoned (there by the term: Abandonware) them, since there are no money left for them to earn.
I sugest you do a little serching on this forum about it, since we've debated it many times...
