Were you ever in a situation where you knew exactly that no mater what you do, you can't change anything, but still everybody expects you to make a decision (to do something, to pick a side, to give your thought on the situatoin)?
I know I have.
I'm asking, because I'm not sure if it's a common thing or is it just me who notices such things, because most people don't see how irrelevant some things really are.

To answer the question:
Yes.
As for the matter of relevance:
Some people in the world don't believe that anything is irrelevant, for example - those who believe in things like fate.
I myself find many things relevant than many would consider irrelevant. And many people consider things relevant that I consider irrelevant.
In that sense, no matter how irrelevant you may find something, someone else will consider it relevant.
Therefore, it is relevant to that person.
Therefore, no one person's judgement on matters of relevance counts for much when it comes to other people.
To make a long story short, chances are, someone somewhere is probably wondering the same thing about you.
Just my personal opinion
