I happen to have a copy of Sierra's Betrayal in Antara, a game from 1997 that I have been attempting to run on my 2004 Dell laptop. Mostly it works, but it runs too fast - I press a key, and zoom, I rocket off across the landscape, inevitably missing my target location.

I've tried things like running it in compatibility mode for Windows 95 or 98, which has not fixed the problem. Nor has running it with VDMS. I got this application called Setspeed that's made for problems like this, but I can't figure out how to make it work - especially since it's a Windows program and can't be run from DOS mode.

The Setspeed readme file wasn't exactly helpful. How do I use it, especially on a Windows program? Is there any other way to slow down the speed of the game?
