Default Requesting Advice on Video Conversion Corrundrum

I've been recently trying to use the 2000 version of Smacker Tools to convert all 2,131 of Conqueror 1086 AD's Smacker-encoded video files into lower bit-rate versions. However, my computer is too fast for the application to properly execute a batch operation, even when running Smacker Tools in my virtualized, legit copy of Windows XP SP3, and all the CPU-slowing utilities I've tried, including CPUkiller, don't work or cause Smacker Tools to become unresponsive. There are three solutions I can think of:
  1. Run Windows 3.1 under DOSBox (unlikely since I don't think this version of Windows is freeware and I don't own any version of Windows 3.x).
  2. Utilize a workaround which entails overriding copies of the original files with the converted files - and manually hitting "Yes" 2,131 times.
  3. Ask someone else with a sufficiently slow computer (probably one which runs a legal copy of Windows 95 or 98) to convert the video for me.

If someone could please give me some tech advice on this issue, I'd really appreciate it!

If it can run in dosbox-W3.x take a look@

Otherwise I could run it on one of my ol'W9x PCs (enough of those laying around lol ) but then you will have to up the whole thing 'ready to run' somewhere.

Another solution could be VPC/W9x, VPC/W9x behaves usually pretty good with older applics. (It's in fact developed for old applics, not for games, contrary to dosbox, just saying).

Thanks for all the advice! I'll try running Smacker Tools under Windows 3.x first. That way, I can finely control the amount of CPU firepower at DOSBox's disposal.
