Any suggestion on how I should do this? The installation happens in dos, so I cant run it on XP, and When I try to install trough dosbox, it freezes. I also cant just move the daggerfall files into the harddrive, cause the game HAS to be installed (it wont start If it isnt installed).

are you installing it from CD? I expect you mounted the CD, so what does it do, just freezes? What if it's not DOS version :-O

Yes. From CD. There is no windows-installation on the cd. Just the Dos-installation.

There are patches out there I believe, for running DF in XP.

You don't need FilePlanet's dl manager to download from them (first-hand experience here).

Chosen: Try changing Core to Normal instead of Auto/Dynamic. While dynamic Core emulation went a long way from its beginnings, it's still not 100% compatibile with some of the games. Recently I tried to run Inner Worlds and neither game nor setup could handle Dynamic Core. Ran without any problem in Normal Core, though.

Also, are you sure the disc/archive/whatever wasn't damaged or corrupted in some fashion?

Yeah or you can just try using this (it will install daggerfall for you): http://www.uesp.net/file.shtml?dagge.../dfinstall.zip
It's a common problem with DF so don't worry about your disc malfunctioning or whatever.

And here you can find all the other files that you might need: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Files
