Nice tip, Master.

I'm already in the year 1992 and Russia nuked Yemen. France didn't like that and nuked Russia. In 1992 Japan wanted to invade Russia with 700'000 soldiers. I did like the idea and stationed 900'000 soldiers in Japan and waited for the final moment, but the Japanese didn't want to make the first step, so I did. Russia had 18'000 soldiers against the rest of the world (2 million) .... now Russia is mine :bleh:

I have a few questions.

1. How do you form alliances?

2. When I declare war on someone, why doesn't it say how many troops I have in there home country, it only tells me the troops that I have stationed close to that country. For example - I declared war on Russia but not once did I read that I had troops in Russia. Turkey allowed me to have troops in there country but that was only around 800, what do I suppose to do fight Russia's 2 million troops with 800 troops in Turkey? Shouldn't I have troops in Russia instead of Turkey?

3. Why do you deploy troops in countries when you're not in war? Is it to help keep peace? Do countries dislike the ideal of you deploying troops inside there country?

Thanks in advance.

Hi dread,

1) So... this is one of those difficult questions, which i can't answer, but i have an idea ... those countries, which have common interests with you, form an alliance. but you can't tell a country like russia that it isn't allowed to stay in your alliance...

2) If you declare war on someone, your troops will join your enemy country and fight then... and it makes no sense, when you station your troops in the enemy country and then you declare this country war...
For example: the usa wouldn't station his troops in the iraq und would fight after 2 weeks against iraqi troops. the usa would deploy his troops in turkey like they did...

I suggest you: deploy your troops near the enemy country and increase your troop number in turkey up to 1 million or more.... but this will be difficult, when you have no friends, which help you....

3) So, i do this either for keeping peace in this region and to keep away one country from antoher or to make ready a war against the neighbouring country.

I hope i can help you with my answers...

Hello guys...A couple of questions:
1) Is there a way to run the main game under DosBox 0.63 in full screen? The intro is in full screen but then it switches to a very small box and when I press Alt-Enter it still is the same size but in the center of a black screen. :help:

2) How can I resolve the issue of the budget? I can't run the game without DosBox (it freezes the PC and I have to reset it - WinXP user) and all other times when using DosBox and entering the budget screen it crashes the game. Is there maybe a specific cycle speed of DosBox that should work normally? It really sux not to be able to modify your own budget.

Thnx in advance for any answers

OK.
Shadow President = compatibality in Windows.
1. Set up your sound card with (probably) setup.exe/
2. Run shadow.exe.
3. Nuke Canada and send humanitarian help afterwards.
Hey, welcome.
As I said earlier, the game can be run perfectly fine under Windows.
Follow my instructions and look if problems persist.
Good luck!

"fullfixed=true" in dosbox.conf

Hello Master MC.Concerning your suggestions:

1) I have setup the soundcardcard with sndsetup.exe (there is no setup.exe) and chosen NO SOUND.
2) I tried to run shadow.exe and the PC still freezes and I have to reboot.
3) Haven't tried this one yet... :bleh:

Any other suggestion(s)? What compatibility mode should I choose? Win 98,Win95 or Win NT?

Also, anything on the fullscreen issue maybe or the crashing due to the budget screen?

Thnx.

Thanx...
It is now somewhat bigger but not big enough for a 17" widescreen laptop monitor.
I tried editing the resolution to 1400x900 but it does not work...Any ideas how to make it stretch to the whole screen?

Really odd situation - and you're not using DosBox right now?
As far as I'm concerned, I don't think the compatibality modes differ a lot, just pick one, if you even have to pick one. I could run the game perfectly in XP.
What if you try to select a soundcard?
How far does the screen go, until the intro (and then it freezes)? Because this is the place the game locks up when you have not installed the driver properly enough. So if the game goes further I guess you can neglect the information above.
I will look into the budget problem later, if you don't mind.

@MasterMC
No I am not using DosBox...
When I try to select a soundcard it has the exact same result. It freezes the PC (please note that in both cases -sound or no sound- the PC freezes before the intro). Just a black screen and then I have to reset. It is not possible to enter even into Task Manager.
But if we found a solution to magnify the screen even more and solve the issue with the budget, I would have no problem playing under DosBox...

Thnx for your quick replies btw...
