Nope, me feels like a noob.....and that happened to ME!!!!!!
You were right, of course, silly me, I screwed up with the sound conf. Now I'm hacking away a lot and the game runs fine, thx again! (still, i tune the sound to low volume..what's that annoying feeping sound that happens ocassionally? That one that sounds like a PC-Speaker-Siren??? Played the game for years, and still i haven't gotten to the bottom of that....)
