Well I personally am condeming their actions on both of Americas.
To settle they chased away the natives (just look at Canada - the situation with native population is significantly better there), then they started expanding towards what was French and Spainsh in the Gulf of Mexico (Louisiana was purely French; Texas and New Mexico were Spanish - later Mexican).
Then there's countries like Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile...

Should we start talking about involvement in Asia? Korea, Vietnam, Kabodia (alomst got into war with China), Taiwan, Tibet (they aren't military present there - yet). The war between Iran and Iraq, the involvment in Afganistan (first against Russians then against the terrorist they traind to fight Russians). The Persian Gulf (firs give Sadam the power then go to war to take it - still connected to the war with Iran). The Middle east is another open subject, but there US is just suporting Israel - they are conducting their own policy.
Then there's African countries: Angola (and cooperation with South Africa)...

Are these wars enough?

BTW - back on the topic of Hollywood - I found something hillarious:

Well on the topic of Vietnam, France did ask the US to help them in Indochina.

I like America! Well, specifically I love California, because we're just the best state there is! Sixth largest Economy in the world baby! And other states always try to be like us. I <3 California...well, the northern part at least!

I know. And the US at that point accepted the Marshall doctrine... This was to say they would become world police force fighting communism all over the globe (OK - if a revolution was forcefully started by foregin agents - then it's two foregin countries interfearing; but if a country was making its own political decisions then it's interfearing with the sovregnty of another country).
In many cases the revolution was closely connected with gaining independance in the first place (Vietnam was still a colony) - so if a country tryied to become an independent state it needed some allys - the western world was the one exploiting the colonies, so they looked for allies in the oponents of the west - this was communism.
Basically US was denying the right of self government to the people - one of the most importaint principles of Willson when he was trying to improve the world (yes - he was an American and I have enormous respect for him - he layed some very importaint fundaments for the whole world - and showed the world how it could imporove - he couldn't carry his plans out).

It may not have been right, but they didn't interfere per se.

All in all, The USA is acting like they rule the whole world, and apparently they does.... sad...
And there is nobody to stop them. Nor Hollywood, nor the wars...

@Reamlus

So what? Having one of the world's best economies does not make you a great country.

Britain is doing pretty well but it's a crap place to live.

Also the countries that realistically actually have the best economies (or at least will within 10 years) are China and India. In 10 years they will be the superpowers.

@pretty much everyone

The USA was the country with the best economy in the world pretty much as soon as the early 20's, faded in the late 20's then came back early 30's.

And actually, China would kick the USA's are in a scrap. Even Russia at this point probably would. The american army is full of raw recruits with practically no morale, sick of their friends being blown up by 'innocent' people.

Face it, the Iraq war is like Vietnam.

Exactly. And sadly. But hell, they started it, they deserve to lose people to the guerillas. And those wo voulanteerly fight there just to kill people, they deserve to die. Don't get me wrong I'm no pacifist hippy, but this is far more than simple "defence against terrorist". did you read the news about american soloders who humiliated iraqui prisonners just for fun, and flushed the Khoran down into the toilet just to annoy them? They deserve what they get, regardless of how "peace supporting" they say to be. Humbug!

As I said before, I only hate the government in the USA and the obsessed patriotic idiots who go to iraq to slaughter innocent people, who are just defending their country. First Saddam, now Bush... What next? I don't agree with all the bombardment, but the US Army really should scram back home. They ruined as much as they can, so they can go now... <_<

Actually most 'guerillas' aren't Iraqis. I find the notion of them being innocent very disturbing, since at the time being they are mainling trying to kill Iraqis, not americans. Their goal is to topple the existing Iraqi government so they can impose their own radical government (probably led by Zarqawi or one of his underlings)

People who call the insurgents innocent freedomfighters should really pay more attention to what is actually going on, since they are far from innocent and they will do anything to stop free elections (as they also proved on electionday a month or so ago)

Yeah, but anyone who's lived in that country for more than 10 years would have to be dangerously armed and fiercely loyal to Saddam Hussain.

@Play

Stuff like the beating up of prisoners and stuff is what the army like to call 'Psi-ops'. It's a type of propaganda that works very, very well on almost everyone.
