Hello all, I'm a new member, and I'm Bukkwilldd, especially when playing this game!
I have the regular and open source versions, and the open source one does run smoother on my machine. I've read all the posts about compatibility, and one problem I encountered that I haven't read about here is incorrect graphics card settings. I have an nVidia GeForce4 and I had to revert it to the "oldest" display settings to get a few of the games on this site to display properly. I dabble in graphic arts stuff too, so I had my display set to ease eyestrain.

Once I got it up and going I was pulled into this game. I'm still not very good at it, but there is a lot to learn, and if you're like me you'll be coming back to it again and again!

I'd like to remind everyone reading this thread about the Transport Tycoon Deluxe 100000000$ challenge on this very board.
Quite a tough challenge!
I've started playing TT again for the first time in well over 5 years, though I'd never played the Deluxe edition. I only got as far as $45 million in 1979. But most cities didn't do well, at least compared to my experiences in the past. I'll really have to try it again

I wonder whether it would be better to play on average instead of easy. I've bought up a few competitors so far, and I spend ages improving their absolutely ridiculous idea of track building

Edit: not that hard after all unless one wants to set the record, I continued the same game and ended up with over $100 million around '92.

strange, by importing the registry files, it means to run the Runme!.reg, right?

I've tried that but nothing happens. What are the adminstrator priviledges about? I thought on a normal PC, the user is always in admin.

I'm not sure why, but I can't get access to the registry files. Again, running runme!.reg doesn't work for me

I really need help.

Yes, double-clicking the registry file (Runme!.reg) should cause your system to ask whether you want to add it to the registry. If you then choose "yes", it should work.

Admin privileges usually only matter when there are multiple users who can log in to the same pc. But if you're the only one using it, you should have admin privileges, that's right.

What exactly happens when you double-click the registry file? Any error that pops up?

Right, thanks for replying, once I click onto Runme.reg it prompts me for a yes and no registry option. Upon clicking yes, it states registry is in use.

At this point, as I've found, no change in is done to the current directory. Trying to run the TTD or TTConfig will ask for a CD.

That's basically what happens when Runme!.reg is ran.

So how did you guys get the game to work? Are there any special tricks or procedures to follow? Or must the Runme file be put in some special temp/ foler to work?
There must be something particular...

An update of my above posted screenshot.
It's a bit later now, 8 June 3100 to be precise.
As you can see the junction has evolved into a bit more complicated one.
Another obvious thing is the higher resolution, a very nice new feature. k:
