What's the point in saying something sensible when it just gets buried under 3-4 pages of spam, or private flamefests, so that most people don't even bother to read it?

If you can't connect with people in a community through meaningful discussion because what you say is mostly ignored due to the fact that it's not filled with enough trauma & drama to catch people's attention, then you're not really part of that community anyway.
