Well the sad part is that the prosecution of Jews ever took lace (actually prosecution of anyone), but things like that should not be forgoten.
BTW - WW2 concentration camps have become a turist attraction too.

Well thats more a "because of" case, instead of a "despite" case like with Spain and Clifford's Tower.

Actually, to be honest, I would say that anyone who makes sweeping statements/offensive comments about religions in particular (and not just "well that's all right, but") or indeed races should be at the very best exiled.
So if I say religions in general, and Catholic in particular are a big bull***t, I should be exiled?

I may have issues with the churches, but I don't discriminate people for following them. I might despise them but I don't judge them, it's their own life.

So much for freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is one thing that I admire, but prejudice using free speech as an excuse is not.

On the other hand you might say that any comment made against something is based on nothing more then prejudice - and that the freedom of speach is abused.

There is such a thing as being oversensitive - political correctness is a good example of that: Just why would you call someone an African-American? Are they African? Were they ever in Africa? Then you'd have to call the rest of them European-Americans, Asian-American, South-of-the-boarder-American,... The only reason the word African-American isn't seen as abusive is that it's too long to use it as a swear word. Otherwise somebody would already do it. I can say the sweetest - most non-offensive word with such a voice that you'd know I ment it as a curse word!

where do you draw the line though. one mans comedy is another mans racial insult.. dont call a black man black call him coulered, heh some people u call em coulered an they gonna hit u. they prefer to be called *******, but then use the n word around others and they gonna hit you. ect. then you get white dope heads who call each other *my ******* there brains having been shot to pieces by cheap substances and hip hop movies.
freedom of speech is a bit screwed up. we arnt allowed to call an arab a towl head (im not saying we should tho, bear with) but for years muslim clerics have been promoting jihad to british youths. admitidally there is a law in the pipeline to prevent this, but at the point it became a criminal act to call someone something derogotory based on there race it should also have become illigal to spread militant propaganda that encourages young people to kill. ah well
freedom of speech meh, we dont got it and we never have had. its just a pancea.

Freedom of speech is about saying what it's in your mind without being prosecuted because of it. If I decide to say something you're clearly against, it's prejudice for you. Unless you live in a world every freaking individual thinks the same way (killing the concept of individual), then there'll always be voices rising against your own beliefs. It's just a matter of what you're willing to do to defend your opinion. Discussions with valid argumentations are acceptable, killing is not.

The thing it (as OMG said) you can't really draw the line.

I guess you need to know what the intend of the person was. If a person said something to insoult you - then it's not OK. If a person said something you're insoulted about - but insoulting you wasn't the purpose - then it's your problem. Your tolerance level is not adiquate (or that person's problem - because that person is simply a rude pig without manners).

Either way - common sense should be applied (but remember - everybody thinks their way of thinking is the way of the common sense), but there's no real agreement what that is anyway.

I've been wondering for some time what the politically correct term is for a dark-coloured european.
African-European?

Europeans aren't so prejudges - so they don't even care about the color of the skin. It's just a person - no need to clasify them
