By dangerous I meant the river is too fast to cross with perhaps some sharp rocks here and there.

The answer I was looking for was bridge(first one on Omg's list), because... ...I thought of how many different types of bridges there are.

I am banging my head, cause I realize I could make the riddle better. :

Made also of ice quite cold.
What is this thing that you can use safe,
to cross a river even at the most dangerous place?

Wouldn't this have made a better riddle?
