Thanks, I finally figured out the research stuff. I was doofusly trying to research things that were impossible. Once I understood which sectors can be researched, it all made sense.

I also did discover the key to a successful business is the monopoly! If you are the only one selling, you make a killing. My current business has been open 2 yrs and I have about $410m in the bank and now earn about 50-75m per month with 10 machines. I would say 2-3 of them are the money makers because I am the only seller

Yeah. You could probably raise prices without hurting sales since you're the only supplier. But, it sounds like you don't need to.

The one thing that did perplex me was when I was the only supplier of a product, I had to raise the price up and quite a bit. Just before my business took off, I was the only producer of the desktop computer. For some reason, I kept going BK because my I had to pay such a high price for supplies to manufacture these computers. And, I kept running out of money before I got to make and sell them. In an effort to see why this was happening, I kept playing the same month over and over to understand. The problem seemed to be that I had to raise the price of this computer up every day! Once I realized this, sales remained constant but I made a killing. If you do this when your a monopoly of a product, you will see gigantic revenues. I went from thousands to millions overnight..........The sad part is, soon other companies also sell your product and your profits shrink back to nothing. You always have to keep finding that monopoly.

Does anyone know how to drive companies out of business?

Have the lowest prices for the products the other businesses sell, so that the consumers will buy less and less from them until they go bankrupt?

First off, for research, you'll have to buy the machine for it. Say, for an example, a wood product machine, which can be modified to produce pencils, or chairs, or tables, etc.

Once you have the machine placed, click on it, and choose the upgrade option. From there on out, you can choose to upgrade the machine's level of complexity, on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being able to produce the most complex unknown item. Each level corresponds to a yet to be developed product. For example, a pencil is level 1, a chair is level 2, a table is level 3, etc. Once you've chosen an unknown item to research, below, you can see some boxes. There, you can make a guess at which materials are used for the unknown product chosen. If all the materials you've picked can be used to make something, then you've officially 'invented' that product.

However, should you not get all the materials correct, your researchers will tell you which materials are correct, and you will have to start the research process over again, the only difference being the wasted materials and your knowledge of which materials are correct.

Now, about the doing the actual researching. Once you've got the machine set up, with inputs, and storage zones and all that, you must assign scientists to the inputs & control station of the machine. They will work like machine operators by putting material into the input & operating the machine. The machine will then make the product in question. The machine needs to make a certain amount of these unknown products before your scientists can determine whether they're appropriate for the unknown product or not. Your scientists will immediately notify you once they have a definite answer.

As far as I know, no, unfortunately there does not seem to be a way to expand, either through transferring into a larger building or buying another building.

All the empty for rent buildings, I suppose, are to give you a choice on which building you want to use, based on distance from suppliers, size, and rent per sq. ft.

I am confirming this program has a virus!!!.

I didn't downloaded anything and had a firewall setted up and after running it I noticed internet slowed down real hard, when I made a netstat I found my computer was trying to portscan my lan.

Now I am in the middle of a Panda scan and I found two files infected.
NOTE: I didn't downloaded ANYTHING appart from this and I have a firewall with XP updated.

I am SURE that it came from that program

I need to wait for the scan.

The enterprise can't to be extended... The game is very good, but easily you put things in one local and want to rent other... But the game... =?(
