how do i lower ethnic and raise ambition

Start problems with other countries. Launch surgical strikes and condemn other countries.

The first thing i did was to invade Mexico, soviet helped mexico from cuba.
When I had taken Mexico, I guess Soviet got pissed, so they nuked Mexico.
Then the interesting part started:
China nuked Soviet, France nuked Soviet, Soviet nuked China and France, China nuked Soviet again and France nuked Soviet again, I dont remember if Soviet sent another wave...
Anyway, than I got to be the good guy, going in and taking care of them...Invaded Soviet, Invaded France...I would have taken China also if my popularity had not killed me.

Some unlogical things: After I took Soviet, China still could kill the leader of Soviet.
And when i tried to defend Kuwait from Iraq while invading China,
Soviet which i had already captured sent troops to help Iraq against me :blink:

I think there are some serious bugs in this game. I had a massive troop buildup around iraq of 1.8 million troops with 800 thousand turkish troops helping me too. I attacked iraq and had over 500 thousand of my soldiers killed in the first attack while turkey only lost a few thousand and iraq only lost a few dozen. it doesn't make since that i attacked with 1.8 million troops and 800 thousand turks and only kill a few dozen iraqis.

This is a great site ...I used to have this game on CD ...runs ok on windows Me...but cant get the animations to run ?...and also to speed up the days so to speak ...have I set it up wrong ???

It would be perfect if the popularity crap didn't ruin my game!!!

So I ignore the Iraq/Kuwait situation, letting the Iraqis win the war in under a week.

Then all's quiet until December, when Iraq goes to invade Saudi Arabia. I decide to help the Saudis, but change my mind when I notice 'Soviet Union is defending Saudi Arabia with 2000 troops!' (luckily, I hadn't committed any yet).

So, there's a war going on, yadda yadda yadda.

Until January 17, when out of the blue, the Soviets nuke Saudi Arabia, the country they're helping to defend. (Obviously it's a bug, but go with me here).

Within hours, France retaliates, nuking the Soviets. Those two countries exchange a few more nukes, the Soviets AGAIN nuke Saudi Arabia, and China nukes the SU.

Few days later, blam. Europe has been wiped out and India is now the second most powerful nation in the world.

That's the end of it, right? Wrong. Iraq tries to take advantage of the confusion by turning its eyes towards Jordan and Israel.

In the meantime, Norwegian terrorists (remember, thanks to all the nukes, everyone's ambition is at max) crash a plane in the Western Sahara. Damn those Norwegians!

Finally, Iraq invades Jordan, and I finally decide to do something, helping to defend. Lasts about a week before the US nukes Jordan, without me giving any such order...yeah. I give up after that.

How can someone make almost certain victory against enemy armies?i send more than a million troops in Iraq and launched dosens of surgical strikes but i am loosing twice the number of troops they do.Whats wrong especially since the leader eff. is less than 10% whilst mine more than 90%?
