It says to run Set Up to select Sound Devices but I didn't have any luck with that. There are sound files somewhere but I'm not knowledgeable on that. This is how it worked for me:-

If you have VDMS already, right click on the executive file & choose "Run with VDMS" It automatically opens a Dos Window & game starts. When you want to play the game again, you can double click on the Icon which shows as a Command Prompt on a blue background (called just "Veil") and game opens again full screen. Esc. takes you out of initial sequence I think & you can choose to new or saved game.

Hope this might just help, 'cause sound is good (Also did you try F9 to toggle sound?)

Sorry the last post was from me - forgot to Register!

I've tried to music toggle have it turn on..didn't work. Speaking of Dos Box..I've typed up Veil, that one didn't work either...

I've tried to VDMS..by the using the right click and guess what.....IT WORKED!!!! *huge hugs for JessieB*

Oops..I'm mean Josie.. think it's time for me the register. *LOL*

Anytime Josie! k: I finally finish the game the other day..I was like, "I need to play it again!" It's sooo odd the lady's son in Other Village wouldn't talk about Kairn at all..he say about the brothers and the father. I'm getting curious about that part. :blink:

Oh, well done! I haven't got any further than the beginning yet. Been busy downloading other old games & getting to grips again with text only adventures - whole new world.

Can you only kill the skeletons with the mace? ...And, um..where is the mace anyway? Those skeletons are annoying.

I have the Ceremonial Gothic Mace (I don't remember where I got it. In one of the rooms in somebody's house, I think. The walkthrough doesn't tell you about all the items you can find.), but it doesn't hurt the skeletons. I was wondering what does. The rowan staff, maybe?
