This is indeed what you get starting it in XP. Use DOSBox (or plain vanilla DOS off course). You might even want to try VDMSOund or messing with the compatability options, but DOSBox is the shortest route to succes in this matter k:

Erm, I'm not too fond of mangas either, but why would that be a reason to rate the game this low? Have you actually played it?

Probably it´s anime because most people liked anime in those times. (think they still do) Anyway, this game is not the great thing of all times, but it´s not trash(well, perphaps, but no so trash to give it a 1!) xD

Out off bmp, it´s a nice game anyway but swis is right the sound is a pain.

I don't really like strategy games, especially if they get too hard... Playing the game just for the .bmp's would be pointless, unless the game IS fun; it's impossible to judge if you haven't played it.
