Now this may have something to do with the fact that the new Civilization game is shortly coming out, but hey - we have a new most popular game!!!

The point is that a popular site linked to civ2 download on that "succesful" day (saturday I think), and so obviously the number of downloads of that game must have skyrocketed...
Anyway Civ2 will always rock my sock...

The popularity thing is derived from anequatino, written by Kosta, that involves both hits and downloads.
