I know this games has a key/key combo that allows you to see the 'lie-of-the-land', i.e. puts the little yellow things all over the map so you can see where you can build what - buti can't get it to work, I've tried all my keys!! Does anybody know what it is?

Please help, it's driving me crazy!

Click outside of your property (or on a lake) where you can't build anything then, special click on your build icon. (Special click = holding right mouse button and clicking left mouse button.)

hi everyone

i have a problem. when i run the game in dosbox i cant move the mouse on the first screen

Errr... the screen turns blue.

The intro runs fine, with sound and everything, but when I gets to the menu it slowly turns blue, more blue, and finally white. If I alt+tab to go back into windows and then goes back into the game the menu looks fine, but immediately starts to turn blue again. Does anyone have a clue about why?

I run win98 (se) on a laptop and most games from this site works ok...

i used to play this game a few years ago and now i found it again! however i cant run it. when i start the game a type of "error screen" comes up and then the screen goes to power saving and i must pres ctrl+alt+delete and shut the game down. me and one of my friends have tried to fix this but we couldn´t. plz! anyone know what to do?

Played it last week again but now it doesnt work any more? Very funny? Anyone knows solution (runing XP)?

It would be grat if they reneved game in same gameplay and made it as animed desktop or online game. Hate settler 4.

hey I'm a big fan of this game and I usd to play it and was able to save it....

Now it doesnt save...it says disk write error or full.. something like that...

I have Windows ME and tried it directly from windows it didn't work, then from ms dos prompt, then I used dosbox but it runs very slow and is choppy/laggy...cant play with the music if I wanted to cause it slows it down more and I also tried to change the frameskip and everything but it is really bad experience playing in dosbox... :help: help plz....I have tried everything to try and save and I think theres no dos mode in windows ME, only dos prompt......Is there a solution?!!!

btw I played this a long itme ago....and reformats have been in between so I dont remeber how I got it to save before, maybe it was on my sucky comp which has real dos....right now though I cant save at all

Make sure no files are read only. To check or change that select a file, right click on it and select properties. There should be boxes to the bottom of the window. This is especially important for the save files, like in the save folder.

It is also a common error for a lot of games which can't save.

what do u mean by read only? there is only 3 docs which open with notepad

notepad has nothing to do with it,
do as Eagle of Fire said, check the properties of the files.

oh I get it..sry for being so stupid but anyways I checkd all of them and they all have archive only checked off!!!
